About BYD Auto Hungary
On 22 December 2023, BYD announced the construction of a new energy vehicle production base in Szeged, Hungary, which will be built in phases. The new production base is planned to adopt globally advanced process equipment and highly automated production processes to create a world-leading new energy vehicle manufacturing base.
Job Description
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the mechanical design, technical documentation, component selection, installation support, commissioning guidance, and continuous improvement of automated production lines, robot workstations, automation equipment, and related factory systems. You will cooperate with internal departments, suppliers, and project teams to ensure technically accurate, safe, and efficient implementation of mechanical engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
Design the main mechanical structures of automated factories, automated production lines, robot workstations, automation equipment, and related manufacturing systems.
Prepare mechanical processing standards, define and confirm technical requirements during manufacturing, and provide professional guidance for on-site mechanical installation and commissioning.
Select purchased components, prepare and maintain bills of materials and component lists, and follow up on the related procurement processes.
Support project design modifications, technical changes, and equipment improvements, and provide guidance during on-site installation, adjustment, and commissioning activities.
Participate in the mechanical review, technical evaluation, and approval process of outsourced projects, supplier designs, and related engineering solutions.
Organize, maintain, and update design output documents, technical drawings, specifications, reports, and documentation related to each design phase.
Cooperate with related departments, ensure compliance with technical standards, safety regulations, and internal procedures, and complete other job-related tasks assigned by the direct superior.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field.
Relevant professional experience in mechanical engineering, mechanical design, manufacturing engineering, automation equipment design, on-site equipment commissioning, or technical problem handling is preferred.
Fluent English language skills are required; Chinese and Hungarian language knowledge is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of mechanical design and manufacturing principles, technical standards, safety regulations, and relevant legal requirements; confident use of Office, CAD, NX/UG, and other 2D or 3D design software.
Responsible, precise, proactive, and solution-oriented personality with good communication, coordination, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
