About BYD Auto Hungary

On 22 December 2023, BYD announced the construction of a new energy vehicle production base in Szeged, Hungary, which will be built in phases. The new production base is planned to adopt globally advanced process equipment and highly automated production processes to create a world-leading new energy vehicle manufacturing base.

Job Description

As a Mold Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing and solving complex technical issues related to press tools, tool maintenance, forming processes, BIW-related tool problems, and surface product quality improvement. You will support tool repair, cost reduction, efficiency improvement, technical analysis, and professional training activities in the relevant production area.

Responsibilities

1. Analyze and solve complex problems arising during tool maintenance processes, and prepare theoretical solution proposals and analysis results to improve the conformity rate of surface products.

2. Analyze production-related forming problems, such as wrinkling, cracking, forming difficulties, and gripping element interference, and develop effective technical countermeasures.

3. Provide theoretical data, technical analysis, and improvement proposals for problems arising in BIW and complete vehicle subsequent processes, and support the implementation of tool repair activities.

4. Support cost reduction and efficiency improvement activities in tool preservation, maintenance, repair, and production support processes.

5. Prepare technical reports, analysis documents, and improvement summaries related to tool structure, press technology, surface product optimization, and conformity rate improvement.

6. Provide professional training for employees in the relevant field and actively participate in company-organized daily training sessions and qualification assessments.

7. Cooperate with related departments, ensure compliance with technical standards and internal procedures, and complete other job-related tasks assigned by the direct superior.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related technical field.

2. Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in press tools, mold/tool maintenance, stamping, forming technology, tool repair, BIW-related tool support, or a similar manufacturing environment.

3. English language knowledge at minimum B1 level is required; Chinese and Hungarian language knowledge is an advantage.

4. Knowledge of press tools, pressing equipment, forming technology requirements, tool structure, tool operation, tool elements, spare parts, and vehicle assembly drawings; confident use of office software and CAD/CAM, UG/NX, CATIA, AutoForm, or other related engineering software.

5. Precise, responsible, analytical, cooperative, and team-oriented working style with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prepare independent technical reports.
