About BYD Auto Hungary

On 22 December 2023, BYD announced the construction of a new energy vehicle production base in Szeged, Hungary, which will be built in phases. The new production base is planned to adopt globally advanced process equipment and highly automated production processes to create a world-leading new energy vehicle manufacturing base.

Job Description

As a Planning Specialist or Senior Planning Specialist, you will be responsible for production and material planning activities, including demand and supply alignment, capacity planning, inventory optimization, master schedule preparation, material availability follow-up, and planning performance improvement. You will cooperate closely with manufacturing, procurement, logistics, quality, engineering, IT, suppliers, and leadership to ensure executable production plans, stable material flow, and efficient decision-making in an automotive manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

1. Develop, maintain, and govern integrated planning outputs, including master production schedules, material plans, demand and supply alignment, capacity plans, contingency plans, and scenario plans.

2. Align production demand, material availability, supplier readiness, shop-floor capacity, inventory targets, and lead times to ensure optimal production output and on-time delivery.

3. Cooperate with manufacturing, procurement, logistics, quality, engineering, IT, suppliers, and other related departments to translate forecasts into executable plans and resolve bottlenecks or escalations.

4. Monitor planning performance through key metrics such as forecast accuracy, schedule adherence, on-time delivery, inventory health, inventory turns, lead times, and supply chain interruptions.

5. Analyze demand signals, inventory levels, capacity indicators, material risks, and operational data, and prepare clear recommendations, reports, dashboards, and corrective actions for stakeholders and leadership.

6. Support new product introductions, phase-outs, demand changes, supplier changes, capacity expansions, system upgrades, data quality initiatives, process automation, and other planning-related improvement projects.

7. Ensure compliance with internal procedures, operational standards, safety, quality, and automotive regulatory requirements, participate in continuous improvement activities, and complete other job-related tasks assigned by the direct superior.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Production Management, or a related field is preferred.

2. Relevant experience in production planning, material planning, supply chain planning, manufacturing planning, ERP/MRP-based planning, or a related manufacturing environment is preferred; senior-level roles require proven experience in leading planning processes, teams, or cross-functional initiatives.

3. Hungarian language knowledge is required for daily work; English knowledge is preferred, especially for documentation, system use, reporting, and cooperation with international teams.

4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, confident use of MS Excel and planning systems; knowledge of ERP/MRP concepts, SAP PP/DS, SAP APO, Oracle ERP, MES, Tableau, Power BI, planning dashboards, SOPs, and warehouse or shop-floor operations is an advantage.

5. Responsible, precise, proactive, adaptable, and solution-oriented personality with strong communication, stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration, prioritization, and data-driven decision-making skills.
