About BYD Auto Hungary
On 22 December 2023, BYD announced the construction of a new energy vehicle production base in Szeged, Hungary, which will be built in phases. The new production base is planned to adopt globally advanced process equipment and highly automated production processes to create a world-leading new energy vehicle manufacturing base.
Job Description
As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for process planning, process documentation, production line implementation, parameter optimization, trial production support, and continuous improvement activities within the plant. You will support assembly and welding-related processes, new model introduction, production line installation, modification and commissioning, while ensuring compliance with technical, quality, safety and operational standards.
Responsibilities
Prepare, review, maintain, and manage process documentation for new models and mass production models, including process plans, operation sequence books, PFMEA, control plans, BOMs, process documents, and material consumption quotas.
Define, optimize, and maintain key process, equipment, welding, assembly, and torque parameters to ensure compliance with design, quality, safety, and production standards.
Plan, organize, and oversee trial production, trial assembly, process implementation, model introduction, offline projects, overseas projects, and related production line activities.
Manage and coordinate production line installation, modification, commissioning, and process implementation stages, and track, analyze, and solve problems arising on the production line.
Drive process standardization, error-proofing, parameter optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve assembly efficiency, welding quality, BIW quality, production rhythm, resource utilization, and labor efficiency.
Analyze process data, torque measurements, welding parameters, production metrics, and quality issues, propose improvement actions, and participate in the review of fixtures, auxiliary equipment, and related mechanical designs.
Support the implementation of internal procedures, operational standards, safety requirements, and quality management requirements, and complete other job-related tasks assigned by the direct superior.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, Welding Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field.
Relevant professional experience in manufacturing processes, process improvement, process planning, project planning, welding processes, assembly processes, equipment commissioning, or production line implementation is preferred.
Fluent English language skills are required; Chinese and Hungarian language knowledge is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of process management, PFMEA, control plans, operational documentation, BIW joining technologies, welding process parameters, torque management, technical standards, safety regulations, quality requirements, and relevant process-related software such as ERP, Excel, TIA Portal, Office, CAD, or NX.
Responsible, precise, proactive, and solution-oriented personality with strong communication, coordination, teamwork, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
